Toujours la même interview de Bandai :
P4F Last year, on the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Career of Kurumada Sensei, three new big projects related to Saint Seiya were announced (a live action movie with Hollywood's participation, the animated adaptation of the spin-off manga Saintia Sho and a Netflix remake of the classic series): do you already plan to release products linked to one or more of these projects? Can you provide us with information about it?
B. Of course, we already have plans in mind and we would like to release as many products as possible and give fans what they want. However, as manufacturers of the brand, we have to make choices and selections. Our job is to satisfy the fans and this is not just about "What to Release," but "How to Release it". Relationship with the way of issuing serves an appropriate context; for example, Siegfried was shown for the first time in Mexico at the World Tour stage in South America. So we have plans, but we must first think of other priorities, such as allowing fans to complete their collections and release the Ex Asgardians and new Myth Cloth Classic. Also, as it happened for Soul of Gold, we could prepare something special for these projects at the next event.
P4F By the way, what do you think of the Netflix labeled series?
B. It will be something completely different from the classic series of Saint Seiya, just because it will be made by Netflix. I think Netflix is focusing more on new generations rather than those related to the classic series; the essence of the project, therefore, should be to tie this reboot to the present day, with the consequence that it will have a more stylish and, therefore, more stylish look with more sharp and incisive action scenes. At the upcoming Tamashii Nation 2017 you will know more.
P4F Fans are very fond of art and visual style of the classic series, they love it.
B. Yes, we are fully aware; we know it's the corner stone of the classic Saint Seiya fans, but this reboot is also important in trying to engage new generations, with the goal of making them passionate about the Saint Seiya brand. Since anime and manga culture is growing, we believe it is the right time to launch this project; If, however, we release a product for a new series without having a feedback from new fans, what would turn out to be a failure, and that's not what we want.
The goal, therefore, is to involve new fans, releasing their products only when those fans are ready to have a collec- tive interest for them. Obviously, we will keep in mind also the classic fans of the classic series.
P4F Well, you want to try to involve a younger and younger audience through a new animated project of Saint Seiya that is closer to current trends and so that you can afford to produce merchandise - so this was your hope behind the experiment to the Toei when Saint Seiya Omega was made?
B. (Laughs)
